Getting Around

Getting There – Travel to Krabi

Krabi is extremely well connected – there are regular, one hour flights from Bangkok to Krabi International Airport which is conveniently located just 35 km from Thalane Villas. During peak season it is even possible to take a direct international flight to Krabi from an ever growing number of worldwide locations. If you are on a restricted budget you can fly to Phuket International Airport which is only two hours drive from Thalane. Flights to the Phuket are sometimes significantly cheaper and there is often more choice.

If you are starting your holiday in Bangkok, you might also consider travelling to Krabi in an air conditioned bus – Bangkok to Krabi bus terminal takes around 12 hours and is comfortable alternative to flying.

Getting Around – Krabi Transport

There are plenty of novel transport options that make travel in Krabi a fun activity in its own right!

Songthaew – these unique, open air buses are a cheap and popular method of public transport.

Tuk Tuks – the quintessential Thai transportation that needs no introduction! An enjoyable holiday experience, but make sure that you agree the price of your journey upfront!

Motorbike taxis – a flexible mode of transport perfect for negotiating busy streets, but not recommended for the faint hearted!

Water Taxi - Krabi boasts several water taxi and ferry services that depart from numerous points along the coast. These lovely boats whisk you away to idyllic Krabi islands, including breathtaking Phi Phi and mesmerising Ko Lanta.

Of course, if you want the flexibility to explore Tha Lane and Krabi on your own terms, it is also possible to rent a car, motorbike or bicycle. If you wish to tour on foot, don’t forget to ask your Tha Lane Villa Manager for a map of Krabi before you set off.
